The Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden continues its monthly Speaker Series at 1:00 pm on May 16, 2026, in the Historic Toppino Nature Chapel. Liah Continentino, Monroe County Environmental Horticulture Agent I & Master Gardener Coordinator for the University of Florida/IFAS Extension, will present “Water-Smart Gardening: How Gardening Practices Influence Water Quality.”
Explore the powerful connection between everyday gardening choices and water quality in the Florida Keys. Participants will learn how irrigation, fertilizer use, plant selection, and pest management affect our canals and coastal ecosystems, and how to apply practical Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ strategies at home to protect water quality.
Admission is free for members, $5 for non-members. All proceeds directly benefit the Garden’s conservation program.
