You can transform those ordinary terra cotta planters laying around into a functional container for growing gourmet edible mushrooms at home!
By packing mushroom spawn into a pot and sealing it, you can encourage the mycelium to fully colonize the space in about a week. Once colonized, simply spritzing the exposed drain holes with water signals the mushrooms where to begin fruiting. Within a short time, you will see pins forming and maturing into a fresh harvest.

So I have a morel clone in agar do I put it in a grain bag before I put it in a wood lovers substrate?
That pot is for orchids ! They tend to be wider, shallow & have the holes on the side as well as bottom drain.
I've got some blue oyster mushrooms going, but they always come out pale and leggy, any tips?
I used the same process with a 5 gallon bucket and shredded cardboard. White oyster mushroom spawn.

PLEASE, what's the SIZE orchid pot?
Consumer beware they make fake terracotta style pots which are only glazed with clay because it's marginally cheaper and this can effect your results
How do you keep the terracotta pot from drying out the substrate?
