Lantana can be invasive depending on the location.

I love lantana. I have bought at least three of them and they all died. And then one was planted by a bird, I assume, and it’s been thriving in my front yard for 3 years. My husband even accidentally destroyed it last year with a weed wacker because he mistook it for a weed (I cried and now he knows not to touch it). It grew back in a month and this year it’s been beautiful.

Lantana. Comes in several different color combinations as well as in some solid color varieties too. Member of the mint family.

Lantana, these where EVERYWHERE when I went to Pakistan, Hugely invasive there. They where huge bushes too, which I didn’t even know they could grow that big.

  5. Lantana, its beautiful and drought tolerant and one keeps trying to grow in my yard despite my continuous mowing. But I will warn that if you have any pet that likes to graze, this plant is poisonous

They remind me of the fireball flower in super Mario. So pretty and cute

I love lantana but I’m allergic to it. I get an itchy burning rash from brushing up against the leaves. Last year I decided it was worth it but even watering was tricky. I decided not to torture myself this year.

Idk where you live, but if it freezes during winter, this will look dead. It isn’t. Mine has survived temps as low as -5F & came roaring back in the spring. Any of the “dead” winter stems you don’t cut will stay as dead stems though, so make sure you cut those back once the leaves die off.

Lantana, looks great in a planter

Lantana is very commonly planted where I live. It’s drought tolerant and can withstand the summer sun. The foliage sometimes dies back in the winter, but if you chop it off, it grows right back. The purple-flowered variety is often planted along hillsides by the department of transportation to keep the hillside from eroding. It comes in several different colors and blooms almost continuously. I’ve never noticed any odor from it.
