This one is completely dried out/woody after the last leaf. Should I cut it off? I am so nervous but plan to convert to leca. Any tips there are appreciated as well.

Id cut it. If its dried, its not serving any function and it wont hurt the plant to remove.

No. They send out runners, that may look woody and dry but are often still living. Root issues generally start from the root up. Sometimes they will put one growth point on hold and work on another.

I cut those. I have personally never seen new growth from dried stems like this. There is a difference between woody stems and dried stems. If you poke it with something sharp if you see clear (carnosas have clear fluid) sap, then it is still alive.

My first reaction was no too! Haha

But yes, if it’s dead and dry, and isn’t growing anything, I’d just cut it off. It will probably help it focus in growing another one.

It’s so pretty btw. Reminds me that I need to move mine to get more light.

Sometimes Hoyas will dry on the tips of vines for a few reasons. Not enough water is one but your plant looks healthy. Sometimes if it thinks there’s no future in that particular direction it will also give up. 😅
Some people trellis and if you do, always wind the vines counter clockwise. Some people don’t trellis and the plant is fine just growing however in a pot or hanging planter. That is a carnosa and will grow to be a beast no matter what, so just use your intuition.

    Edit for clarity
