Hi all,

Just wondering which magical creature has chosen my Bridgesii as the platform from which to bring their progeny into the world. Would like to leave them be if they’re harmless or helpful, but I need help identifying. Thanks in advance.

They are gonna be caterpillars then butterflies or moths. Not sure they will start out as friends. They could turn out pollinating something you love.

  2. Im no expert and Not 100% sure but they look like stink bug eggs and if thats the case then they are foe

I think it’s a leaf-footed bug of some sort. I don’t think most of the species are common cactus pests, except cactus coreid whose nymphs will leave little sucker spots all over. I don’t think their eggs look like that though, and they mostly feed on prickly pears but I have had some damage on SP.

Removing them is reasonable, but it’s probably fine to leave them; even if they do end up feeding on your cactus you can just knock the little fuckers into a glass of soapy water and drown them. picture is the cactus coreid nymph.

Looks to similar to stink/sucker bug eggs to not consider burning them with fire. They wiped out my squash crop 3 years ago, and then started appearing again when I had my cactus outside and exposed, and started terminating tips.

I have a great and deep-seated hatred for those bugs.

Take a sheet of paper and scoop them off. You don’t want them hatching on your trich

I scraped all of them off. Sadly, they do not come off in sheets but kind off pop off everywhere. I gathered some into a Tupperware container, but some landed in the soil. I will update the post when they hatch!

    Thanks everybody!
