Northern Virginia, and have tall fescue I believe. Scott's weed and feed clover and dandelion killed other weeds but this one is thriving haha! Know what it is and how to treat?

  1. Weed is stronger since the advent of sinsemilla growing practices in the 70s, but no that’s not Scott’s fault.

Scotts is trash, the Walmart of lawncare, tons of mediocre products at an attractive price point just like Walmart.

According to Picturethis it says its Corn Speedwell. If you want the professional stuff get Speedzone if you want something from the big box stores get Ortho Weed Clear or Ortho Weed b Gon. It will probably take multiple rounds to get rid of it, it looks pretty well established.

What is the turfgrass? Make sure you get the proper formulation for your type of grass.

Great, now you’ve gone and pissed it off

Don’t use Scott’s lawn products they are crap.

Somehow this is the spreader’s fault

How short are you cutting it before you treat it? At the beginning of the season I would normally use the level one setting

So I’ve got the same weeds in my lawn (looks like chickweed) near newly planted *arborvitae* can I safely spot spray nearby? Assuming the wind isn’t blowing towards them

My go to for just about anything is a mix of Weed Beater Ultra and Sedge Ender.  Same company, but just mix it to the concentration that works for you.  I use about 2tbs per gallon of each with some dye.  Works well on just about anything but crabgrass.  Sometimes 2 treatments a week apart for tougher things.

I had the same thing and I tore it all up in wet conditions in the spring. Put down topsoil and grass seed and started all over again. I tore all the stuff out and dumped it in the woods using a wheelbarrow. It is the only thing that worked.

i’d love for weed killer to work, but it’s a pipe dream. just spent 99 for a gallon of trimec. should have just burned the benjamin

Ortho weed b gon. Dealing with this in my front yard. Second round applied few days ago. It works and cleared out the majority of it, gotta keep hitting it til it’s gone though.

  12. Make sure it wasn’t accidentally Scott’s Weed Feed

Well you obviously bought the weed b strong instead of b gon. /s

Let your tall fescue actually be tall. Mow it short and watch weeds take over.

Are you me? Having the same problem. Sprayed with ortho and those died but more have grown. Idk what to do!! Ive tried to hand pull but they are so tightly mixed with the grass…good luck.
