I've never been great with plants but I found this beautiful plant on Marketplace and had to have it. The guy told me give it 3 cups of water once a week, a bit less in the winter. I admit I watered it maybe 3-4 times in the 5 weeks I've had it. My place is a bit dry due to heating and I sleep with the fan on (away from the plant). Not a ton of natural light in my apartment and because the Monstera is so big, moving it by the window isn't really an option because my place is small. It started getting brown tips and one leaf has some yellowing too, I'm worried because I love it and want to help it thrive 🙁

Creo que necesita más luz . Tampoco la saques directamente afuera. Sino llévala poco a poco dónde entre más luz.

More light, like. Much more!! They love the light!

Monsteras thrive in bright direct lighting. They also like to be misted daily, especially in the hot summer months. I always water mine by putting it into the bathtub and showering it, leaves and all. I let the water flow through the entire pot until it drains and I let the dirt dry out before its next watering. More frequently during summer, fewer waterings/mistings during the winter. I would also suggest distilled water when misting and watering. Sometimes harsh water can give leaves browning tips, and your water may be harsher than others.

    Good luck!! 🙂

    Mine get direct morning sun.
If the plant must stay there, it’s gonna need supplemental lighting.

It’s humidity. Those crusty brown tips are telling you she needs more moisture

Light. The brown tips are from watering it with tap water, it’s the salt. Just rinse the soil and replace it with indoor potted plant soil in six months.

Needs light and humidity. Spray water on the leaves. And take it out to indirect sunlight, and then gradually to direct sunlight.

Put it directly in front of a window. Facing the window. You always see her butt.

Get yourself a tall grow light with a timer – I have a monstera in a bedroom with blackout curtains and it’s thriving with my grow light on about 8 hours a day. You can find some decent lights on Amazon that aren’t expensive.

It needs light and don’t water on someone’s elses schedule because it all depends on how much light, heat, and humidity there is in your environment.

I have a Thai Constellation which is also labeled Bright Indirect Light but I had to put it in my window to make it happy and grow lol

    Definitely more light

Yes, it might be the light, but it might also be your water. Crispy tips like that are often a result of water that contains more minerals such as calcium and fluoride than the plant would like. Monte it closer to the window, but also try filtered water.

Mine needs to be right next the to window to be happy.

Needs more light and more humidity. This is a tropical plant.

In addition to needing much more light, when you water any plant, you need to soak the pot and let it drain. A few cups of water for a big plant is not enough. The roots all need water, but only the roots lucky enough to be in the path of that tiny amount of water are getting any.

I always direct people to “kill this plant” on YouTube. He’s the monstera guy.

For reference on how much these like light i let mine chill in the full sun after hardening them off in the spring and in winter they chill infront of a full glass patio door.

I’ve literally got mine right up against the window and I still feel like it won’t be enough for a monstera 😂
