Just repotted a big regal shield and got 35 corms. Few looked like this tho. What is it? Some type of thick root? More energy stored? And the 2nd pick, is that a corm growing on the corm?
Babies having babies. Corms can make their own corms, which is what has happened. It’s common in vigorous cormers like Regal Shield and Sinuata. If the secondary one is large enough you can separate them, but if they’re underdeveloped like the first photo, keeping it attached is best.
