Serious question but how many chives do you need in a season.

I like chive butter, so I try to always have fresh chives on hand.

Any tips for starting them from seed? I got annoyed & impatient today as they haven’t germinated for me so I replaced them (SFG) with *Allium cernuum* (native, nodding onion) which I had grown from seed/cold-stratified/winter sown. They’re chive-like 🤷‍♀️

Chef I’m going to need that to be a 1/8″ bias cut. On the real this rough chop pains me

I’d say twice would be safe for me. Like you I also like chive butter, so that doesn’t last long in my house. I use it on omelettes and salads, and I eat those every day (alternated).

Thank you for the reminder, I need to plant some this season (were going on planting season 2 in my country, and I’m a bit late even)
