I recently noticed the base looking a bit different on this large ponderosa pine on my property. I didn’t notice it before. I also think it might be leaning a bit more also. It’s huge, about 3’+ diameter. I have several this size but no others look like this at the base. Is this something to worry about?
We had an arborist and his team come about 15 months ago, asses the entire property and remove 4 or 5 big oaks that were rotting, but they did not mention this tree. Could it have changed that much in 15 months? Last winter was pretty wet, this winter warmer and drier. Thanks!
