I have Roma tomatos, basil, marigolds, cucumbers (spacemasters?) and jalapeños. I’m sure I made plenty of mistakes, but man was it fun getting started.

edit: Question for anyone; are 6’ stakes necessary for Roma tomato’s? Seems a little overkill right now

Cheers for companion planting! I’m always too lazy lol

If you ever find your plants wilting a lot from the coon to arrive heat, I’d recommend a layer of mulch!

I do a cheap and simple medium nugget wood chips from my local garden store and it made a really big difference for my own plants in their grow bags!

Hope you get a great harvest!

I have those same grow bags. When I didn’t have enough soil to get the top of the bag, I folded down the bag so that my plants could get full sun and not be shadowed by the bag. Good luck 🌱

It is always easier to install stakes or cages at this stage than when everything fills out.

Hell yea! Take notes, see what works v doesn’t; try not to make the same mistake twice, enjoy the journey!

Im a little jealous. I have containers, plants and soil but its rainy and although my plants love it, its a little chilly for my old bones. Hopefully we will get a break here in central PA tomorrow.

My Roma tomatoes have always stayed smaller and bushier so a 6’ stake may be overkill. I use a (dead) bamboo stick to stake my peppers and bush tomatoes, mainly as secondary support for when they’re heavy with fruit. Good luck and remember it’s for fun and food!
