The pot is from artist Orcuttiputty. I'm really debating on what I want to put in here. I'm thinking an Astrophytum caput-medusae or Ariocarpus retusus but I think the tap roots may be too large given the small size of the pot. Any suggestions?

Caput medusae so its extra weird!
I think something very short with big tubercles would compliment the shape best. Ariocarpus, thelocactus, or sclerocactus.
What a magnificent choice, it really is so amazing. A pachy would be nice, a deniflorum. Apologies to r/cactus for the non cactus suggestion, it’s just what came into my head.
