Piedmont region North Carolina. Some huskers red penstemon and white yarrow. My first pollinator pocket on the side of my house that used to just be baked clay dirt

It looks like you’ve got a fern just outside the stones on the right side. You might want to see what that is and maybe encourage it.

I’m in the NC Piedmont! it’s my second year at this house so I’m starting out too. The baked soil is no joke
I’ve had really good luck with soil improvement so far — last fall I made flower beds by gathering the neighbor’s leaves and pine straw they set out for collection. It’s going to take a couple years but even one year has made a huge difference. Good luck!
