I agree with the above… Spray the yard and pick what you can with a fiskars or grandpa’s weeder. Doing this, it will improve immensely with time.

Granular Weed and Feed has worked extremely well for establishing a normal grass yard in my experience, the dandelions try to grow and just wilt immediately.

Tried the pulling tool and just left huge divots in the yard lol aerating I guess

Just pick them and eat the roots (or is it the stems?), they’re good for your heart

Scott’s Step 2 did the trick for me.

Post/pre emergent is the best way, but the ultimate goal would be to have a turf so thick weeds can’t grow in it.

Speedzone. Get a gallon pump sprayer snd mix a batch. Won’t kill grass, only broad leaf weed

2,4d spot treatment. I have a specific 1 gal sprayer for this and I hit the yard wherever I see yellow

  8. I bought a grandpa’s weed puller. That really helped with this chore. Otherwise, embrace the dandelion.

Once you get your lawn under control you can individually pick them or treat spray them. But if your lawn is half weeds you will need to use chemicals first. You really want to get a good pre emergent in the early spring before they appear but you can still attack them now and get it under control. A lot of people don’t like weed/feed products but I’ve had really good experiences with them. Once you get your lawn in good shape and there’s only the occasional one that pops up then you can pull them without chemicals. Overseed this fall so that next year your lawn is full and it makes weeds harder to grow.

Any herbicide containing 2,4-D. Ortho Weed B Gone or WeedClear are sold almost everywhere.
I usually just spot spray with a tank sprayer, but if you have a lot of them, do a blanket spray with a hose-end sprayer. And be forewarned that it will kill almost anything you spray except your grass.

You should also add a non-ionic surfactant to your mix, even though the label probably does not tell you to.

Trying to pull dandelions out is a waste of time unless your yard is the size of a postage stamp or you have all the time in the world… and you want to keep doing it forever.
