If you answered any combination of the above, we can’t tell you your celebrity crush or most flattering fragrance, but there’s a good chance IKEA’s LÄNSPORT LED lamp is the lighting for you.
Because it does everything. Being a portable light, this little IKEA light is just as cozy in a bathroom as it is on a balcony. It can be carried by the handle like a sculptural clutch and set down on a tabletop, indoors or out. Alternatively, that same handle can loop itself onto less-expected spots, like the side of a stair railing in a tiny backyard or a tree branch in a larger one. And when you get bored, flip it upside down for an entirely different minimalist look. Arguably one of IKEA’s most versatile lighting designs in recent memory, which begs the question: why on earth is it being discontinued?

That’s right. The dreaded ‘Last Chance’ label has appeared beneath this fan-favorite listing, meaning when the existing stock is gone, it’s gone. We don’t know why bad things happen to chic, design-minded people, but we can only assume IKEA is busy engineering the next Scandi-coded object we’ll all attach ourselves to. Who knows, maybe the LÄNSPORT will eventually join the ranks of those rare IKEA pieces now selling for thousands at auction.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Summer is coming, and this little flip-flopping lamp makes ambience possible pretty much anywhere. ‘These are absolutely fabulous,’ writes one reviewer.
‘I bring them out when eating on the patio furniture and, even better, I let the kids use them when they’re playing outside, and it starts to get a bit dark,’ citing the LÄNSPORT’s ‘incredibly magical, soft, yellow glow,’ and lightweight construction. ‘I am so disappointed they are discontinuing them!’
