It’s not technically fully finished, it still has some chunks of things like larger sticks and some speckles of eggshell. This was in a tumbler that I started last May and stopped adding to around September or so. I’m in zone 7b and I don’t think much was happening over winter. I only starting intentionally breaking up compost balls a few weeks ago. I learned a lot with this first batch and am still learning!

I have the same tumbler. There is a learning curve. I was not expecting “compost balls.” didn’t even know they were a thing until I started using a tumbler.

I’ve learned not to turn it every day. Give the microbes time to break it down without disturbing their habitat too much. I turn every three days and I started adding more browns to cut down on the amount of compost balls.
