Hellow there!
I need some guidance and tips.
I recently got a Monstera thai constellation, house plants has never been my strong side but I’d love to take good care of her.

I am wondering do I need to buy a soil mix or would regular soil mix be fine for now?

How often would it need water if I do not have a soil mix, and would it prefer bottom watering rather to regular watering?

I live in Denmark, so sun is nothing something we have too much of, and has been told that indirect sunlight isn’t too necessary when we don’t have that much sunlight

Would the pot it is in, in the second pic be a fine size?

Any other tips or tricks is appreciated!

(First pic is when I got it second pic is today. I haven’t gotten any soil yet to repot it)

It’s fine for now. Just don’t over water it. When you want to repot get chunky mix. You must understand that potting soil stay wet for long time indoor. And there is a big difference between indoor potting mix and the outdoor one. Good luck

I love using a chunky soil mix like this, i make mine out of a bit of indoor potting soil, a lot of orchid bark and perlite or smaller volcanic rocks. I’ve had the most success with this mix and letting it dry out fully and thoroughly watering or soaking it in a bowl for an hour or so probably every 2 weeks but it depends on your conditions, the plant will sag a bit or curl a lower leaf to show you it’s thirsty. The pot size should be fine but that substrate is very dense and might cause root issues only had bad experience with that kind of soil. Give it the most light you can at all times or get a grow light (Sansi 40watts in a pretty lamp works wonders), otherwise the leaves will get smaller in size or loose fenestrations. Wishing you and your plant the best! ✨
