My 4 year old London Plane has had a crack in it for a few years now. It seemed to heal up okay, but I noticed this spring that there’s a hairline crack that goes up a foot or so beyond the larger crack area. There’s also some rust-colored stuff near the larger crack area. Is the tree okay? Should I do something to help it? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
