This basil gets plenty of sunlight but because I may have overwatered it : I watered it once since I bought it and honestly the leaves weren't vibrant and were kind of wilting when i did ( she was bushy) but because I had gotten water on the leaves and then seen them mostly turn black or brown I suspected it may be rotting and cut it back hard but could any of you tell me if it's salvageable ?

It’s not dead yet, but may i ask what you have it growing in? It looks like graham cracker crumbs, haha.
Not yet, but it will be if you leave it in that clump of clay… Get yourself some proper potting soil, that stuff looks all-inorganic and has no nutrients for the plant and no drainage.
Is that sand?
Is it growing in old cocoa powder?
Wtf is it in? Clay?
Maybe try growing your basil in something that doesn’t resemble cocoa powder.
Did it fall in quick sand?
