And only the sweet peas have sprouted. And one daisy. I’m a new gardener, is this because it’s very cold where I live?

  1. Where are you? There has been a polar blast so that isn’t ideal. I sprinkled some carrot seeds in a grow bag about two weeks ago and I have a lot of significant sprouting here in inner west Sydney.

Carrots won’t mind it being a bit cold, but they are very fussy about being dry during germination. If you had a day or two where the soil wasn’t moist they often won’t grow. You can get around this by watering well then covering the soil u til they come up (about 10 days)
