Hey all! I wanted to share pictures of the build process and final result of my first bioactive vivarium. It will eventually house a crested gecko after I give the plants and clean-up crew time to settle in. The enclosure is a 36x18x36 habistat glass terrarium.
I first created a ventilation system using foam board which I placed a pc fan into. I then created a custom background using silicone, spray foam, cork bark, and a background soil mixture from Neherp.
Here is a list of plants for anyone interested:
Button fern
Pilea Micro greens
Peperomia Caperata
Peperomia Rana Verde
Peperomia Venezueliana
Peperomia Piccolo Banda
Asst. Fern
Pilea Moon valley
Pilea Depressa
Pilea Depressa Sao paulo
Pellionia Repens
Pilea Glauca
Philodendron Scandens
Mahogany Fern
Indian Holly Fern
Goldfish vine
Neon Pothos
Begonia Foliosa
Philodendron Brazil
Pilea Moonlight
Begonia Manaus
Red Prayer plant
Neoregelia Fireball
Alocasia Amazonica "Polly"
5 different air plants
Neherp Live Moss
I am boiling some leaf litter now for the springtails and isopods. Whew, what a process this was. I'm excited to see how all of this grows in though! Let me know what you guys think and if I should adjust anything.

Beautifully done. I bet your little buddy is gonna love it.
Does your fan(s) blow to the bottom or is it reversed to take bottom air upward?
Looks good so far
Masterfully executed!
That’s beautiful. What are the sticks you used? I like the way they twist.
