Nope. Mine are always close. They do great
patientpartner09
They look great but I would add some mammoth stripe sunflowers for the beans to climb!
Fenifula
Shouldn’t be a problem, unless a rabbit comes by one night and eats all of them. That’s what would happen in my garden, anyway.
Lemortheureux
They will manage fine

I usually plant in clusters 3 or 4 in the same spot 12″ or more away from each cluster. Having now plants close helps keep the plants upright. But you definitely want space enough for air to move.
Gettingoffonit
They aren’t too close to thrive, they will be perfectly healthy there. But depending on the specific variety and how dense they grow you could have some difficulty harvesting from the center.
I grow my peas even more dense in a similar style with a trellis up the center. It usually works fine but I was out of town for 3 days, a storm hit and blew them to the east side of the trellis and they grew like mad. Now I have a 6 foot section that has turned into a maddeningly dense pea patch that I can barely harvest 6 inches into.

4″ (10 cm) spacing is about right for bush beans. They’re not very large, don’t feed heavily, and don’t live long anyway. They are not like massive tomato vines or a chunky pepper bushes which need 12″ (30 cm) spacing at a bare minimum.

Looks good! They’ll hold each other up. Fair warning, bush beans have a short but PRODUCTIVE growing period. Once the pods start coming in, you’ll need to pick daily. And once they stop setting flowers, they’re done. Roughly 3-4 weeks of production. If you want fresh greens over the whole growing season, use successional planting.
