Hampshire-based garden designer Vicky Lincoln and Rob Woodhouse from Solent Garden Services picked up a gold award for their Showcase Garden, Nature’s Spa, which was inspired by the William Wordsworth poem, Lines Written in Spring.

Headline sponsor, Hillier, created this year’s feature, Neighbourhood of Gardens.

The College Gardens Competition celebrated student teams from Coastland College, Dorset and Merrist Wood College, Guildford.

For the first time, Beautiful Borders gave first-time designers, charities and community groups the opportunity to try their hand at designing smaller-scale show gardens. New Forest Day Opportunities and Minstead Trust was awarded Best Beautiful Border and a platinum award.

BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Adam Frost congratulates all winners, adding, “I’ve got nothing but respect for anyone that invests their time, vision and hard graft into bringing a show garden to life at a big public event like this.”

Visitors also had a chance to visit the Make a Metre Matter border designed by De-Graft Mensah and Lucy Chamberlain.
