Wild ginger is one of my favorites. I read you can divide it but I'm nervous to pull them up. I thought they were all connected by the same thick rhyzome.
This one is still so small. If it were mine, I wouldn’t. I would feel more comfortable doing this to a bigger patch.

they’re like violets where it’s basically sitting on the ground. as they fill in there will be ones growing over others– target those to move. agree with others to wait til fall. Early spring (4-6 weeks ago?) is also easy

I have been. So far so good. I took the rhizomes that were wandering into a public trail, so it was more rescue than ideal propagation. I imagine it would be best to do in the dormant season.
