We recently bought a house with a failing retaining wall. I got about 25 different quotes using wood, blocks and concrete. The cheapest bid was $10k and that was for 4×4 posts 1 foot in the ground. Most quotes were about 36-38k for blocks. These concrete guys came in at 16k with piers dug but they couldn't drill deeper than 2 feet into the bedrock. The situation changed and we had to go woth a T footing which upped the cost the $19782. A lot of the wood quotes I got came in over 12k so the concrete seemed like a good idea.

WOW that’s crazy expensive…where I’m from that amount will get you a piece of land 😂
Have them come back and drill weeping holes asap.
