The grey wall (fence) is a bit of an eyesore so would like to plant something along this fence line to block it out. Ideally, I'd like to keep the garden bed, an subsequent planting at around 600mm wide so this limits the options somewhat.
An additional complication is that the fence is on the north boundary, so that strip gets a lot of shade year round…. peak of summer the exception.
Interested to hear if anyone has a similar situation and how they handled it.
Location is Sydney if it matters.

Is that fake grass? Edit: my bad, OP confirms the grass is real 🫣
Callistemon slim
A trellis with a native clematis would work and look fantastic in bloom.Â
Or do you want something taller to block out next door?
Callistemon “Slim”. Grows to 3m to 4m high but less than a metre wide. Minimum pruning. Red bottlebrush, bird and insect attracting flowers. Tolerant of frost, clay soil and drought.

I’d go for bamboo in pots. And yes your grass is amazing.

Your grass is amazing mate. What’s the secret??
The answer is always Syzygium
Syzygium or trellis/ wires with jasmine to keep with the existing plant palette

Just grow the lawn up the fence
Thought I was in r/lawncare for a second there

Hank Hill would approve.
