Is there a selective pesticide that I can use? SW Brisbane area.
I swear this stuff has taken over in the last 4 or so years. It’s been creeping up the verge and now establishing in the rest of my actual lawn. Larger plants have red stems.

Pretty sure it’s crab grass. I’ve tried all sorts of post emergent selective herbicides but nothing would work without killing the rest of the lawn. There is a pre emergent called oxafert that is meant to work well but not in my experience (good chance I botched the application though).

I’ve changed tactics and am now just trying to keep it low and prevent it from going to seed and over sowing with couch 🤷‍♂️

Just mow it regularly since it looks close enough to actual lawn grass…

They’re pretty easy to spot and pull if the areas not too large. Come out pretty well.
