Tragopogon porrifolius.
Horny Goatweed! I hairsprayed one of the seedheads. It lasted for years.
Tragopogon porrifolius, salsify. The whole plant is edible, although preferrably at a younger stage. I have only used young flower shoots as a stir-fry, quite nice.
