This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:
When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!
*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).
If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.
If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.

Mine were about this big when I pinched last year. I pinched above above what would be that 2nd set of leaves (the large ones just above the top of the bag) and had a TON of blooms.
Yes, I’d get these in the ground as soon as possible, assuming temps are suitable in your area.

First timer over here, but I looked into it pretty extensively because I also did not know where to pinch. I pinched my plants about a week ago and they are all already branching out at the pinched points.
I circled where to pinch on one of your photos. You want to pinch that small growth in between those leaves. But, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgiNb_IhGdc) video also helped me figure out where and when to pinch.

You can pinch wherever you want!
