We have planted a native garden to the side of our front garden (we love it!! Used to be a giant yucca 🤣). The first photo is on entry and second the view from our leaving our house.

We have a silver princes and silver dollar, and what feels like an empty spot a third similar tree should be. Originally the acacia (lemon magik) was to be the third of the triangle but it wasn’t a good match and we shifted it (may remove as it’s going to get too crowded).

Need advice of the empty spot! (Second photo) do we go for another eucalyptus ? Similar in size to the princes and dollar ? Any advice is great !

You do not have room for a third, let alone a second

Wait til those ones grow you wont need any more, just some mid range flowering shrubs., a couple of Correas easy and cheap.

Let what you have grow for now, I wouldn’t put another tree in.

… but if you must add something I would suggest a grevillea that contrasts against that euc, orange flowering one perhaps? Something maybe to 2m. You’re gonna have to trim the euc because from memory it is an absolute monster when it’s bigger. But the foliage is so nice you’ll have no problem trimming for the vase and gifting!

Once your current trees get larger it will be quite crowded. A tea tree might fit in nicely and native bees love the flowers.

I can’t see a gap for a tree, unless the perspective in the photos is skewed, I think they all might be too close already. The silver princess is possibly going to be shaded by/compete with the silver dollar.

The 2nd photo appears to be where your hose is so you’re going to need space to access that.

Maybe a 1.5-2m shrub like callistemon little John to hide the fence where the acacia is. Or maybe some lomandra longifolia or similar clumping plants along the fence as a backdrop to the existing planting.

Edit: the planting is very healthy and looks great tho well done 👍

I kinda agree with the other comments, but there are Mallee’s which really do work together in close proximity. I don’t know where you’re located, but in WA we have the Eucalyptus Rosacea and Synandra. The silver princess also does work in close proximity with one another so you could plant another. I also love the Eucalyptus Kruseana.

But I would be inclined to steer away from another tree and for something else, perhaps something structural.
I have an Acacia Flat wattle growing in a semi prostrate, tall way which is totally funky. Or a leafless rock wattle. These are all WA plants so keep that in mind if you’re not located here

If you want height, you could put in some lattice or rusted REO mesh, and plant a climber (like hardenbergia).

Something lower and shrubbier rather than another eucalyptus. You already have two strong silver feature trees, so a compact grevillea, westringia or correa could add texture without making it feel too crowded. Looks great against the dark fence!
