Not sure if I’d encourage that in case doggo decided to do that once the plants are in place.

Looks like a lot of fun! My dog does that every spring. He knows not to dig once there are plants growing. He’ll just lay on the soil next to them, it’s cool and cozy in the gardens.

We had to designate a patch of our yard to be our dog’s digging spot. Now he digs there 100% of the time after he’s done digging up the rest of the yard.

Any chance you had voles?

My parents fed their dog a carrot out of the garden once – my mum pulled it to check if they were big enough yet (they weren’t). They got home from work the next day and the dog had pulled up and eaten every single one.

That’s not good for your future plants

Be sure to put up a fence around that box once you’ve planted! They’ll be back for more digging fun later this season 😂

That’s cute…until you have it planted!

While this is cute, it’s also a big problem. This pup is now trained to dig in this container. If you ever tried to plant anything here, pup is going to do the exact same thing.
