    The branching and leaf shape makes me think it’s a dogbane, probably hemp dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum). It’s a native species in the same family as the milkweeds and thrives in disturbed areas with moist soils. As the name implies, it is poisonous if eaten, but it’s also good for pollinators.
