We bought some land few years back and have had the fortune of it having LOTS of wild blackberries. We picked a couple dozen pounds the first year. We have also found a couple Mulberry trees and some crab apple trees as well.

Today, while picking some early season berries we noticed very large and seemingly un-ripened berries. Completely white like in the picture. I picked one and it was soft, and a small taste test confirmed to me that it was actually ripe. There were dozens, all white. You have to feel them to see which are ready and which aren't, but we picked a ton.

We have not eaten them just yet as I would rather get a consensus from others as to their safety.

I do suspect them to be due berries as they were mostly on the ground and not on taller vines like the surrounding blackberries, and the stem seemed to have significantly smaller thorns that where a bit more flexible. Aside from that and the color, they seem indistinguishable from the blackberries though.

    That is super cool!!!

I would guess dewberry because I’ve tried a white variety of blackberry and it was very tall, upright, thorny and bitter even when ripe.
