I think you got enough to supply a retail store. 😛

    Mmmm

  2. Solid_Wish

Depends. Pesto for you? Yes. Pesto for an army? Almost!

  3. kurtmanner

Looks like it! The best part is that if you harvest it correctly you’ll have enough to send us all some soon!

  4. PlanktonsLeftAntenna

Bruh you need like 2 cups for pesto lol you got plenty

  5. EquinsuOcha

Good news! You don’t always need pine nuts for pesto. You can also use walnuts or pecans as a substitute.

Confess, you feed them with beef🫵🏻

Oh my God that looks marvelous! I usually plant mine between my tomatoes and recently it’s not been doing too well. Full sun?

I’m still working on finishing the pesto I made & froze last year. Trying to hurry before this year’s basil is ready!

The cost savings will be in growing your own pine nuts!

Make a bunch and can it! You’ll have pesto all year. I’ve never used pine nuts in mine, just basil, Parmesan, garlic, olive oil, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar, and white balsamic vinegar. Oh, and salt

Like my gma said when I showed her my giant Basil plant. You have the gift! they look so healthy, prune and make use of them. (I love Tomato and basil salad)

Jeez, where do all you people live who already have enormous plants in the garden? I’m in California zone 9, and we’re all just getting started here! Lots of wind, chilly nights, surprise snows… and then FURIOUSLY ROASTING summers.

  14. hastipuddn

I would take some tip cuttings to root in water for the next batch.

But the real question is, will your pesto be the besto?

  16. Granny_knows_best

When you get done, let it flower, the bees love it.

  17. Tinyberzerker

I use sunflower seeds in mine because it’s way cheaper. Then I use ice cube trays with lids and freeze the pesto. Works great!

  18. 13thmurder

Yeah, you’re going to have a lot of it.

I made a huge amount last year with basil I grew and froze it in ice cube trays, I use it all the time and still have some left.

I let mine go to seed at the end of summer and I now have hundreds of basil plants that popped up on their own. I made a 16 oz jar of pesto yesterday and I barely put a dent in my bed.

Pesto saves really well in the freezer. If you make a ton, you can keep it till next harvest, no problem.

when it starts flowering, pinch off the flowers.

  21. MichaelStanwyck

Thai basil chicken would be on my menu

  22. coolpartoftheproblem

what is your secret all i do is kill basil

  23. ReverseMillionaire

I got those basil plants from the grocery store and they kept dying 🙁

  24. Cautious_Explorer_33

  25. Vuhlinii

This is barely enough to make *one* pesto. 😉

I bet it smells like heaven, though.
