Found on a beach in Mexico (not by me). They are lightweight and hollow and seem to be some kind of seed pod?

Reminds me of a type of water chestnuts, but I don’t know what they are.

Looks like one of the shark or ray egg cases. Similar to mermaid’s purse.

Fun fact! Baby shark eggs usually hatch in the womb because the babies eat their way out of the egg. Sometimes not.

I remember finding these in Mexico and being told they were a kind of seed but I can’t remember what. They are the worst to get imbedded in your foot on the beach! The shark eggs tend to have 4 corners. ….?

Definitely not a shark or ray case. Likely a seed pod.
