Unfortunately I'm not in a position where I can afford felling this tree. Its dead/dying. Any ideas on how we could get it down?

Also…if its ridiculously dangerous how much am I looking to spend?
Can you afford to pay someone to just take off the upper branches and leave the trunk for now? It will look ugly but reduce (but not take away all together as it’s dying) the chances of it falling on the house as extra weight is reduced.
Also….its got fungus growing on the thick part of the main trunk. This thing died quick, is it dangerous to climb up and cut as much as I can?
