These photos are taken exactly one year apart. The tree is in my neighbors backyard but is really close to our fence. It's May and things are still blooming but it would have leaves by now right? If the tree is dead, what could cause it so quickly?
Should I be concerned?

Depends on your area and the type of tree. Going from full canopy to 0 in one season would be incredibly fast…
I’m in zone 5 and our maple trees are just starting to wake up, and I don’t think the oaks will be fully leafed out until the first week of June. What do the rest of the trees in the area look like?
