Rain garden attempt. Dug 2 feet down, sand rocks compost mulch and then it rained a lot. I now have a pond. What do I do ? Bail it out with a bucket? Make it into a pond? It’s been 3 days since it rained and it’s still full 😱 I haven’t had a chance to put plants in yet. But I’ll have iris, ferns and willow. Help!!!

If your soil is clay and you compacted sand into it, you’ve basically just made concrete that is not going to perc.
Problem is you didn’t make a rain garden, you in fact made a pond. A rain garden of this depth would be much wider than this & still have a drainage end so after it rains, the site is more wet soil than standing water. There are “official” rain garden dimensions available, I’d look for one specific to your hardiness zone/region to take precipitation & all that into account.
