I have about 8 of these in a line and they started from about two stems each around 18 months ago. How do I remove the extra stems and would I be able to plant them elsewhere? One of them is currently about 3-4m tall and blocking the grass from getting any sun.

You can ‘reset’ them by cutting them all down to about 30cm. Then dig the rhisome up and dividing it up. You’ll have more than you need, so pot some up and when they grow to about 1m tall sell them on gumtree/marketplace. They are a cash crop!
