EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – This summer, families at Evansville’s Ronald McDonald House will have nourishing food and a tranquil place of escape thanks to the vision of a local gardener.
Organizers cut the ribbon at the new Harvest of Hope Garden at RHMC on Washington Avenue.
The garden will produce a harvest of nutritional, fresh produce in Spring, Summer and Fall.
Right now, the raised beds have broccoli, cauliflower, peas, lettuce and more.
Once the produce is harvested, it’s moved to the kitchen to help those staying in the house.
Collin Culiver, expert gardener and owner of Culiver Cultivations, says as they move through the seasons, different produce will be planted to replace what has been harvested.
He’s planning squash for summer and more leafy greens for fall.
