A garden celebrating creativity, community and storytelling has won top honours at a national horticultural show.
Minstead Trust’s ‘A Garden of Many Hands’ claimed both the Platinum Award and Best Beautiful Border 2026 at the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair, held in Beaulieu from May 1 to 3.
Robert, a supported gardener, said: “We had a meeting about the design and I went shopping to get the last of the plants.
“I’m very happy that we got Platinum and it shows that all the hard work pays off.”
Created by gardeners with learning disabilities and their instructors, the garden was inspired by Furzey Gardens in the New Forest.
It featured a thatched fairy house, shuttlecock ferns, hostas and candelabra primulas.
Emma Borbely-Bartis, day and community opportunity manager at Minstead Trust, said: “Opportunities like this allow the people we support to showcase their talents, build confidence and be recognised for their abilities.”
