I’ve got the jar of vinegar ready if they are…. They just don’t look like the earthworms I’m used to but I’m happy to be wrong.

    Asian jumping worms have a distinctive off white stripe near the front. I don’t see that here, but it’s hard to tell by the picture.

    I tried for a year to get rid of mine but they just spread too fast. I killed hundreds but it was too late. They don’t seem to be causing any actual problems with my garden. It’s more that people are worried they’ll disrupt forest ecosystems and such.

    I agree with u/Luxembourg. I was optimistic until it fell in the soil and twisted itself in knots. They don’t always have the very clear bright white band this small. The other sign that sometimes isn’t on the younger ones is that iridescent blue sheen on their skin.

    If you know they are in your area, and this was found in the top few inches of soil, it’s more likely than not a jumping worm.
