Couple months ago I picked up my first alocasia to try sticking in my aquarium. Emptied the soil out and cleaned off the roots in the sink, stubbed my toe leaving the kitchen, fell, and snapped all the stems.
Thredders I chucked it in the bin, angrily ate my spag bol, scraped my plate over it & went to bed.
Next morning decided to at least try, one tiny leaf had snapped off low enough to have like 1 root on the base. Scrubbed the sauce off, chucked it in the tank and left it alone.
It's grown crazy healthily & put out half a dozen corms in the water which I've snapped off & have sprouted.
I love my saucy lil guy.
