i want to take a top cutting of my monstera (his name is mowgli) to start a new pot with just the fenestrated leaves.
i’m planning to chop where the blue arrow is – the three aerial roots that will be included on the cutting have already started to root into the soil. do i need to wait for the new leaf to harden off before i chop? i’ve grown him from a little single leaf cutting (2nd pic) so i’m very attached to him and want to ensure this goes well lol

i would let it harden beforehand. its still very fresh and the risk of it breaking is a lot lower when its hard. they get small “wounds” very easily too so i find its always best to let it harden since its also still growing.
Yes, let it harden
