Hello friends! Unfortunately I had a silver maple crack in half and fall on my house/garage/car on Monday. A large portion of the tree is still standing, however my fiancé and I are worried about leaving it and it falling over. In your opinions, do you feel it is safe or should we have it removed? Also, do you think it was struck by lighting or that it was just decaying? The rest of the tree is about 80ft tall. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunate, but on the plus side it opens up a lot of space on the eastern-facing side for an AM antenna

I certainly would be calling around and getting prices for the whole thing to be removed if it were my problem, just my 2¢

    100% preventable.

Included bark unions are visible from a mile away.

I *love* the lightning (lightening) posts!

This tree will never recover, its lifespan is severely shortened.
