So you’re telling me this will one day break down into useable compost??! Why am I so baffled and in such disbelief that this will work despite doing lots of research?? Can someone reassure me please 🤣
Well, everything is always composting. It’s going to take a while the way you are doing it.

That cardboard will break down even better in smaller pieces, but more importantly it needs to be constantly wet. It looks bone dry at the moment. Keep adding more stuff to your pile – you got this!

More stuff and pee on it then you’re cookin

put cardboards into bottom? some wet greens, water it maybe with used water

Just think of the forest. All those plants and trees will grow, make seeds, die and decompose creating more nutrients for the cycle to repeat. Nobody is tilling or turning the forest floor, nobody is fertilizing them, nobody is watering them, it just happens over years. We do things to make a big pile of used organic matter break down faster, but it will just do it over time if you don’t touch it. Only man-made stuff like plastic doesn’t decompose, everything in nature breaks down and feeds another system.
