Is the garden looking like it could use a bit of a spruce up? Then Aldi has just brought back a popular Specialbuy – but it will only be available while stocks last.
With spring underway and summer on the horizon, the weather is getting a lot warmer. With temperatures climbing, there’s no denying a lot of us will take the chance to spend more time outdoors.
No matter what you are doing, it pays to have the right tools to hand. For those who are looking for something quite multi-functional, then we’d like to point out the Ferrex Weed & BBQ Burner that landed in the supermarket’s middle aisle section this morning, May 7.

Costing all of just £14.99, this nifty gadget can complete a variety of garden jobs. Using thermal heat to destroy weeds within seconds, it will take out the faff off pulling them out by hand, while also being less harsh for the environment compared to bleach-based products.
There are three temperature settings – 80C/450C/650C – that can be adjusted easily by using the turntable. Also coming with a stainless steel heating pen, it targets the weeds directly without burning down large parts of your garden.

Also suitable for walkways and pathways, it can clear up any area around the garden. While burning weeds is considered to be more eco-friendly than using chemical-based weed-killers, it does pose its own concerns.
While Aldi’s Specialbuy does come with an ‘overheat protection’, experts do recommend still having a water source nearby. You’ll also want to ensure that any debris like twigs and leaves are out of the way in use.
That’s because dead, brown materials can catch fire incredibly easy, which can likely spread and potentially cause a garden fire. That’s also why it’s generally advised not to use it whenever there is an incredibly hot, dry spell.
To ensure gardens are kept in pristine condition, so the weed burner should be used a good distance from any cherished plants. One wrong move could see healthy, lively shrubs burnt by accident if the tool is not used correctly.
Aside from burning weeds, this multi-functional tool is one to keep in the shed, as it can also act as a barbeque lighter. It can also be used to remove paint and varnish, while being able to loosen adhesives or plastic welding, making it versatile gadget you can use time and time again.
Homewares deal of the week
Whether it is for a cuppa in the morning before work or for a garden party at the weekend, it is important to have comfortable seating so you can truly make the most of your outdoor space.
Thankfully, Dunelm is selling a garden chair that has been very popular with shoppers. Priced at £35, shoppers have praised the Helsinki Lounger for its variety of colourways and relaxing design. One shopper even said it was “so comfortable they fell asleep in it”.

Aside from being multi-use, the Ferrex Weed & BBQ Burner at Aldi is also one of the more cheaper models available right now. A popular choice on Amazon is this Draper 2000W Electric Weed Burner that costs £24.49, although it is down from £34.79.
DIY retailer B&Q is also a little bit pricier than the budget German supermarket, as it offers this Hardys 2-in-1 Electric Weed Killer Burner that is priced at £39.99, making it £25 more expensive for a tool that has all the same functions as Aldi’s Specialbuy.
The affordable weed and BBQ burner lands back in the supermarket’s middle aisle alongside a host of other garden items, all of which have arrived perfectly in time for those of us who want to get our gardens, patios and balconies sorted out for the warmer months.
One item that would compliment the gadget is the Retractable Garden Hose that costs £39.99. With its automatic hose reel, low-speed function and position lock, it is perfect for keeping the greenery fresh and hydrated when any heatwaves arrive.
There’s also some comfy, trendy garden furniture, such as the Belavi Bistro Lounge Set. This three-piece suite comes with two cushioned chairs and a table for holding drinks and snacks, all for under £80.
