Last night, my loving partner left wide open the window next to my plants. When I woke up, it was just 38 degrees Fahrenheit outside. My plants look okay now, but are they likey to slowly die from cold damage? Some I’ve grown from teeny tiny starts in the last year or two. Thanks for your insight!

It’s not great but they’ll probably be ok for the most part, they were indoors and mostly sheltered. I definitely wouldn’t let it happen again though

Not ideal but temps did not drop below freezing so they will probably be okay

I recently moved all 40 of my Hoyas from Boston to Texas (on February 1st) we stopped in Tennessee overnight and the car was so packed we had to leave my plants in there overnight in the garage. It dropped to 10° and I only lost two of them. Both were thinner leafed Hoyas. The rest are currently thriving. Yours should survive I wouldn’t stress too much.

As long as none of the leaves are showing spotting or at worse, getting limp and soft—there probably isn’t any cold damage and you’ll be fine 👍🏻

Almost all of my Hoyas live outside in south florida. We had a crazy winter with multiple below freezing nights. I didn’t lose a single plant. They will be fine.
