We've had some unexpected guests in our henhouse who end up destroying and eating our chickens' food. I tried setting up this type of trap and incredibly it's been working!
Fill the bucket 1/3-1/2 full of water then reset the trap.

I need a longer ladder or a shorter bucket 🙁

Oh. A chicken food generator.

I never had much success with these.
If you aren’t against a lethal trap, a trick I learned from some mushroom farmers is to super glue dog kibble to the trigger of a mouse/rat trap so they really have to tug on it. Super effective.

I just let the stray cats launch out of this tunnel and eat rodents in my pile.
Ive found that these types of bucket traps work much better without the lid. It’s lethal, and it wastes some seeds, but water with a small seed layer on top tends to work better in my experience.
