I’d love your opinion about this willow. Three branches fell in the past few weeks so we understand it’s dangerous to leave it in its current state, especially with a young child.
Two people came around to have a look at it. The first doesn’t think it’s sick and thinks we just need to trim the tallest branches back to 50% of their current height, to make the weight a bit more even. The second person recommends getting rid of it completely because he thinks it is sick and will never recover. I personally agree but trees aren’t really my area of expertise so thought I’d post on here to see what you think?
I cut some smaller bits off the fallen branches and some were dry. There is also a vertical crack on the bark on the main trunk (not pictured).
